ReplyDeleteone potential take goes back to what was revealed in the novel "The Niantic Project: INgress" regarding the coding/programming nature of the data - if it is indeed doing what is described in that novel, then the thought of a code being able to reprogram humans would be seen as a threat by some, of course one could argue we reprogram computers all the time to make them "better".... if you could recode yourself to make you better, would you?
Maybe the threat is not if it is being forced, but people are scared about being able to be "better" and changing and so wish to take that option away permanently.
