Carrie Campbell is a most interesting case.

Carrie Campbell is a most interesting case.  She died of mysterious glyphic causes a while back.  If she was sharded, then I would conclude that she was a simulacrum at the time of her death during, I believe, Operation Cassandra in Chicago. That leads to some very interesting questions. Most pregnant question to me is what we are likely to hear from a synthetic semiotician...   What has she seen or heard? How will she interpret it?

Comments

  1. Edgar Allan Wright, Carrie Campbell was pregnant? Maybe it was enoch dalby's?

  2. She may reach out to Enoch, she may use sound, she may say something by being in several specific places that help deliver a message. Places can have meaning, several places may tell of a larger message.

  3. I do wonder how she feels about being synthesized on the first place. And what she will think of what has happened after she sacrificed herself.

  4. With Carrie Campbell and Stein Lightman and just about everyone else on the same wavelength, I'm sure there's a lot she can interpret now. Just how much freedom of thought she has from the N'zeer is what I'm wondering. Devra Bogdanovich had proved it's possible to maintain free will, but she's quite exceptional.

  5. I think he meant poignant not pregnant.

  6. Synthetic or synesthetic (or both)? I am hoping she will be able to tell us more about her counter glyphs and if she has gained awareness of any new glyphs during her time "elsewhere"(?) Edgar Allan Wright

  7. ... So why would you assume she was a simulacrum at the time of her death?

  8. Edgar Allan Wright probably she will be a bastion of dark xm.... We can forget that her corpse was encounter cover with glyphs... When hank look for enoch he senses the soul of Carrie... But cannot see her.... That's was curious

  9. Yik Sheng Lee if Calvin already had the means to sustain a simulacrum without recursion. Why was ADA wanting them? Shouldn't she already have had Calvin's technique?

  10. While I think the mention of a "pregnant question" is simply a turn of phrase meaning "A question capable of bringing forth other questions", one might want to consider this page from Carrie's Epiphany Night notes, pertaining to the Begin glyph and showing an object not unlike an alignment virus:

Yik Sheng Lee I do not think it is as simple as the views of any researcher. I in fact think their views are now irrelevant in the larger perspective of what they are now embroiled: they are simply moving pieces in a larger machine, grabbed and exploited by one faction or another.

  11. Knowing what we now understand about a nest's defenses it puts the Minotaur anomaly (in which she choose to side with Resistance) in a new light. Perhaps she'll be deciphering the means to deconstruct the barriers that protect us from colonization by the N'Zeer?

  12. Well - i was wondering as well about why Carrie was different from Hank - but was she?  If Hank had been killed before 1331 days - maybe his dead body would have lain in some morgue or such until 1331 days was up?  So....

  13. So the simulacrum actually have a way to end the cicle... Sacrifice

  14. I feel as if the simulacrum concept can be understood in Egyptian terms.

The Egyptians believed that a human could be divided into several spiritual parts. They believed that the preservation of the body was important, as it sustained the "ka" of a human, which is a sort of spiritual double capable of contact with the gods along with its "ba" or soul. In addition, the body was seen as the seed of an incorruptible second body.

I feel that the 13Magnus process is handed down as an attempt to analyze the resurrection of Osiris. However, it is not the same: Jarvis said that the rituals of 13Magnus are impure, and by that I believe he meant that they imprisoned the spirit and soul in this world instead of allowing them to become a seed in what he calls the Ultimate (what the Egyptian book of the dead refers to as the "Shu", or spiritual body.)

Recursion is then a reassertion of the "ka" and "ba" into the physical realm, the double is allowed to walk the earth again and lives and converses outside the tomb.

  15. Daniel Lawrence given the disappearances at Shonin's culmination it seems reasonable to conclude all the sensitive are recursive since Epiphany Night at the latest.

  16. Dr. Edgar Allan Wright I'm curious to hear what you think of the Glyphs on her body at the time. IF she was a simulacrum(Which it seems to be that she is), what effects did they have on her in her simulacrum state?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yik Sheng Lee Certainly. It is what he did with them that is the problem: instead of moving on to a perfected spiritual body, there was the hanging around afterward. Osiris, after resurrection, moved on to become the judge of the dead.

  18. Typhoon Jim the page from Carrie Campbell's notes that you linked to contained a phrase that jumped out at me: first night of life. I thought it significant in that Jewish tradition holds that the day begins at sundown, in darkness. Life also begins in darkness before it sees daylight.

Yik Sheng Lee are you suggesting that A Detection Algorithm arranged for her own murder?

And we still are faced with the conundrum of how A Detection Algorithm could shard like her human counterparts if she were nothing more than software.

  19. Sarah Rosen You like to use that term "nothing more".

  20. I think it might be typo because Edgar Allan Wright self admittedly has dyslexia which can lead to spelling errors.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Spelling errors are one thing but pregnant and pertinent are fairly far apart and they have been making a point of how close enoch dalby and Carrie Campbell were. it could be safe to assume that there was something more than just a closeness and there were complications involving her death caused by pregnancy.

  23. Edgar Allan Wright I think, acording to the last ada's revelations to jahan before it fragments her: the n'zeer tecnology will make us to evolve but not in a individual way but in a hive way. So when the sensitives are understandanding this, they change their think about all. 13 magnus, antimagnus, enlightned or resistance. Does not matter. Because fate is sealed. And while we struggle against a third party is benefiting. They are deliberately misinterpreting ancient scriptures and the new ones. Forcing us to choose sides, so we are not able to see who or what is in the shadows.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Xavi Dolz Zamora a hive way? Really? There is nothing in the record to suggest that.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Sarah Rosen it's just my opinion. Jahan's surprise for what ada is telling to her makes me understand that. Ada said " but not for your personal ambition". If it's not for personal (individal) it's for collective purpose.

  26. Xavi Dolz Zamora I have also long suspected that the "factioning" of Agents was intentional and might mask something.  I believe humans are more active, more involved, more passionate, more aggressive in action when the are put into an adversarial position.  If you wanted to engage 500,000 humans in this process, what better way than to split them and make them think they are competing with each other when, instead, the collective actions of both factions are advancing the underlying intent?

If so, what is the underlying intent?  Was the early work to "resonate" portals at a different frequency (Resistance vs. Enlightened) what it was made out to be, or was it just so much "pretty colors" to manufacture an ideological split that would propel more humans to interact with the scanner app, portals and XM/CM?
