    QuantumIngressEffectIngress QuantumEffect There are no sources that indicate he went to Pompeii to study the eruption, as he initially recorded it from the villa where he was staying in Naples. We do know that he attempted to rescue inhabitants but in fact died himself, likely from a heart attack, in the process.
