I think I can shed a little light into the Intel drop that appeared today on Investigate. The purpose of a number of think tanks and projects that preceded Niantic (Waratah, Marie Celeste -- though my chronology might be off -- and others who's names escape me at this moment) were not only remote viewing, but 'remote presence'. The premise from somebody, Calvin? Kureze? I am unable to recall exactly who, was that if you could 'view' past or 'parallel' events, you could affect them. You were present. I do not remember us coming to a conclusion and it remained an open question.
We realized that the paradox was that if we caused a split and returned to our coordinates, we never knew what happened to the split. I have come to suspect that part of my disorientation (which is much improved) is that part of me is on another path.

Is that kind of like when Roland Jarvis met Hubert Farlowe in the safe house, both before and during the time the Nia agents came searching for Farlowe?

ReplyDeleteThere was a great deal of interest in remote viewing in the Cold War. Maybe an outgrowth of this concept?

What you may not realize is every action, no matter how insignificant, actually creates a brand new timeline. Time Traveler’s Immunity has a couple of ramifications. One of them is that the time traveler will still have memories of his previous timeline. The other side effect is that when a time traveler uses a portal, that portal will open at that time in all future timelines. This means that if a time traveler changes a timeline where you had previously used a portal... The portal
will still open up in the new timeline, even if you don’t exist in said timeline! You are in a sense immune to changes.
Time Bastard Theory
You’ve probably heard of the law of conservation of mass. Matter may neither be created nor destroyed. However, this theory is not for a specific point in time, but rather across all of time. This can get complicated when time travel is concerned. If you travel in time you can meet an older version of yourself, because mass is still conserved across time. Time bastard can come into effect if the timeline changes, causing a time traveler to not portal at the moment he or she did in a previous timeline. Due to Time Traveler’s Immunity (TTI) that time traveler will still exit the portal as usual, causing the time traveler to exist twice in the timeline. At this point, the time traveler who originally was supposed to portal and didn’t will cease to exist. It is unclear exactly what happens to them...

If something is split - can it be joined back? Or can something happen along one of the branches that disrupts or causes another branch to cease to be? What causes someone to be aware of other branches or splits?

Kosh TheRipper they may meet themselves in the past but I'd believe they were probably a different person when that happened. They may be changed as they travel and when recursions happen as well.
