Forgive my absence. I have been monitoring Exogenous Activity since 13MAGNUS: REAWAKENS and despite feeling a some 'emergent energy', it has been very quiet from the Exogenous Entities.--- But I would expect that. But I can't avoid the feeling that something is coming. The question is what? I have some suspicions, but rather than prejudice your reactions, I'll ask this -- what is it? What is going to emerge from the Exogenous world?
Ive felt the same. I believe the RPG holds a clue to this, as an Exogenous Entity was said to take H. Richard Loeb. The activation of so many Tecthulhu modules in Navarro served as a beacon,a light shining from our place in the universe. I can see three possibilities here, either something from our dimension saw that beacon as a light guiding them home, or something else now knows where to find us. The third possibility may have more consequences. Forces of the Nzeer or Shapers were once identified by numbered patterns in XM, the only communication media open to them- could they now send something else?

I dont see anyway around wondering if everything is culminating in a major upgrade to Agents abilities out in the field via a new scanner.
One thought that came to mind when considering Tecthulhus is the "lares", or household gods of the Romans. Consider that Virgil wrote that Aeneas carried his gods all the way from Troy to his eventual home in Latium. These gods were both physically represented in statues, but were also spiritually present (indeed, the lares were generally considered to be, in part, virtuous ancestors of the house who aided it after death.)
ReplyDeleteThe concept of lares seems to be a liminal one, where the object itself is not the entity in toto, but it is a critical link worthy of veneration to larger concepts of duty, familial piety, and the passage of generations.
I, for one, would like to see the exogenous entities deal more frankly and openly with humanity. I feel like this game of shadows is essentially a maneuver to divide and isolate XM sensitives and their allies from the rest of humanity.

And a third thing wafting in the shadows ; would be ley lines. My conclusion theory , is. Those frbs are striking those ley lines delivering messages. To nzeer.
